Strategem (my current employer) about me:

Andreas joined Strategem in early 2010 with six years software development experience. However, Andreas has been a keen developer since his early teens and started fixing computers at approximately age 10. This interest and natural aptitude is not completely surprising, as Andreas’ father is also a software developer.  In the brief time Andreas has been with Strategem, he has already made definite enhancements to the development team work processes: Researching, sourcing and overseeing the implementation and training of a new online project management tool, Assembla, which is now a key part of work process and included in Strategem’s Work Methodologies for all digital projects.  Andreas does the backend development for projects at Strategem, (particularly the tricky stuff!) and works his magic on sites such as Appleby, Feeding for Life and Aptamil.  Andreas’ technical skills are numerous: He is comfortable and competent in most development languages and operating systems, including mobile.  His skills include PHP5, MYSQL5, XHTML, CSS, Linux, Windows Software, Webserver Apache 2, Delphi, LAMP, PC Hardware, Microchip programming, Network administration, C, C++, C#, Visual Studio 2008, .NET, BASH Scripting, XML, JSON, JavaScript, Ajax, jQuery, Prototype JavaScript Framework, Scriptaculous, Subversion and Photoshop. Originally from Germany, Andreas moved to Dublin in 2008 to work with social networking company Nimble Communications as Senior Web/Software Developer, where he was taken on to do the mammoth task of rewriting the entire backend, developing a secure and highly scaleable PHP5 framework.  Before moving to Ireland, Andreas spent a year and a half with Marketing Agency, Rot Gruen Blau (Red Green Blue) in Pforzheim as Developer, responsible for developing and enhancing sites based on Joomla, a PHP5 Content Management System. Andreas started his career with Drachenfeis GmbH, a German based information and communications company who partner with major international companies such as Bosch and Volkswagen. During his 3 years there one of the key projects Andreas worked on was developing the customer interface for reselling iPass.  In 2007, Andreas graduated as IT Specialist with emphasis on Software Development from “Heinrich-Wienland-Schule” in Pforzheim, Germany.  The 3 year course covered C#/C++, .NET, PHP, Python, MySql, MsSQL, Postgresql, Linux, Unix, Windows, Bash/Shell scripting and Network Administration.
